Our special selection for the this month will feature coffee from two different coffee estates. The first will be from the Copan Region and the second from the Montecillos region. Both are shade grown high altitude coffees. Our master roaster, The Golden Pig, has selected them especially for you. You will find that this is the perfect gift! Nothing better than to enjoy daily a gourmet cup of coffee from Honduras!

Mr. Jose Adilio Martinez owns the Finca La Virtud, which is in the Copan region. His coffee bushes are the Yellow Catuai variety, which of course, is 100% Arabica Coffee. His coffee estate has a medium altitude of 1,680 meters above sea level. (This is approximately 5,500 feet above sea level). The coffee from La Virtud Coffee Estate has some unique notes that you will enjoy: mature fruits, almonds and caramel.

Our second selection is from the Montecillos Coffee Region. Mr. Dagoberto Cruz has his coffee estate at an altitude of 1,400 meters above sea level. (This is about 4,600 feet above sea level). His coffee bushes are of the Red Catuai 100% Arabica variety and offer delicate notes of dark chocolate, black berries and vanilla.

Both coffee producers use the wet processing method to produce their coffee. This means that the coffee cherry is separated from the coffee bean and then washed, before drying the coffee beans to prepare them for the coffee roasting process.
